A general technician, also known as a maintenance technician or maintenance worker, is a skilled individual who is responsible for a variety of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities in a variety of contexts. A general technician’s profession often entails dealing with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems to assure their correct operation.
A general technician’s major responsibility is to do routine maintenance and inspections on equipment, machinery, and systems. Lubricating moving parts, changing worn-out components, and cleaning or repairing equipment as needed are all part of the job. General technicians may also be in charge of diagnosing and addressing equipment faults, employing their technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities to detect and resolve difficulties.
